Excerpts & Reviews: That Was Then, This
Is Now
Excerpt from Chapter
2: “Don’t Get Bitter, Get Better”
We may never understand why God allows things to happen the way they
do, but sometimes God’s plan may or may not include those you
love. Don’t look at where you are, look at where God is trying to
take you. No one knows the battles you are facing, what sorrows or
setbacks you have experienced. Maybe you are going through a divorce or
have just come out of one. Maybe some relationships have been torn and
you feel you have hit rock bottom, or maybe your Cinderella story has
come to an end. Whatever you are going through, be encouraged; better
days are ahead. Tell God whatever happens, good or bad, “It is
well with my soul.
Reviews:
Sometimes life deals us blows due to bad decisions on our parts, and
sometimes we bare the brunt of the bad decisions of others. In Paulette
Harper's, That
Was Then and This is Now: This Broken Vessel Restored, we are
provided with encouragement we can use to propel us out of our negative
situations. But beware! This is not a book from an "expert" who has
seen it all, but hasn't personally experience the pain and
disappointment that many of us have suffered. Instead, Paulette
ministers to those with hurting hearts, by candidly sharing her
tribulations of a broken marriage, disappointing dreams, and thoughts
of suicide. She also provides hope and inspiration from biblical
examples and solutions based on the Word of God. This is a must read
for everyone feeling as though they are wearing a mask of "all is
well", yet feels anguish in their soul. Paulette Harper does an
excellent job of showing us how to receive the abundant blessings of
God.
